Farewell as art tutor Helena signs off

PUPILS of art teacher Helena Anderson held a farewell party to mark her retirement from her classes at Henderson Art and Framing at Gaywood.

They gave her a voucher for art materials and a selection of other gifts and flowers from past and present pupils at her popular Painting for Pleasure classes.

Sue Henderson, who took over the shop from Mrs Anderson six years ago, said: “Helena’s classes have always been very popular. We are very lucky that Tod Evans has agreed to take over the mixed media groups and ensure our excellent afternoons continue.”

Although Mrs Anderson is giving up her classes she will stay busy. She has been painting portraits of people and animals for many years and now has more time to concentrate on those commissions.

Her successor, Mrs Evans, lives at Clenchwarton and was an early pupil at the classes at Gaywood. She has just completed a fine arts degree.
