Mums' tributes to rail death boys
TWO mums whose sons were killed when they were hit by a train, have spoken of their grief.
The bodies of Luther Storr and Shaun Barnes, both 17, lay undiscovered beside the tracks for two-and-a-half hours before being spotted on Saturday morning, it has now emerged.
Luther's mum Barbara Halliday said: "Luther's brothers and sisters are devastated by this tragic accident but we are pulling together as a family to support each other during this time.
"Luther was a lovable rogue who had lots of friends and everybody seemed to know him around where he lived.
"He was right into rap music and had recently started an engineering course. He had his whole life in front of him and he will be very sadly missed."
The boys were both from Watlington, but Luther had recently moved to Lynn.
Shaun's mother Lynne Lazenby said: "Shaun was the life and soul of the party and he loved hanging out with all his friends.
"He was very popular and liked music, football and just mucking around with the lads.
"Shaun's little brothers really looked up to him and they, along with his older brother, are devastated by this tragedy.
"I would like to say thank you to all the people in our village who have offered us so much support."
British Transport Police investigators have now confirmed the boys were hit by the 5.56am Lynn to King's Cross train.
Police were not called until 8.30am when a train driver reported two bodies by the line near St Germans Mill Rd crossing.
It is thought the boys had been out in Lynn and decided to walk home along the tracks after missing the last train.
Detective Inspector David Aiton said: "Our thoughts remain with the families and friends of Luther and Shaun during this time.
"The post mortem today confirmed that the men died from injuries consistent with being hit by a train.
"Their deaths are being treated as non-suspicious and the investigation is continuing into why the men were on the railway that night. We have reviewed CCTV and spoken with several witnesses who were with the men in the hours before the tragic accident.
"Both men were socialising in Lynn earlier in the night and we are very keen to speak with anyone who may have been in their company or who has information that may assist our investigation."
