S Wootton woman gets novel published

A SOUTH Wootton author is celebrating publication of her first novel.

Now she hopes to attend book signings locally to help launch it.

Kim Hunter (45) from Nursery Lane has seen Whatever it Takes go into print by London-based publishers Olympia.

The 268-page book took eight months to complete and tells the story of a policewoman from Spalding in Lincolnshire who goes to Soho in London to discover more about her family.

Mrs Hunter went to London several times to research the book, and also spent time on the Internet and watching documentaries.

"I have always been interested in finding out about the seedier side of life; I have found it intriguing," she said.

Mrs Hunter has long had an interest in writing but was able to concentrate on it after she gave up regular part-time work with Snettisham auctioneer Cruso and Wilkin six years ago to look after her dog, who was terminally ill.

It was her husband, Paul (49), a builder, who suggested she might like to take the opportunity to write – and she hasn't looked back.

Mrs Hunter wrote two novels which she did not put forward before the third was accepted. She has found success thrilling, and is now working on another novel which she hopes will also make it on to the book shelves.

Whatever it Takes is already available online and should be in book shops, including Waterstone's in Lynn, in the New Year.
