Three new community groups at Walpole

YOUNG families in the Walpoles are set to benefit from three new community groups.

The first, a drop-in session for parents and under fives, was launched at Walpole St Andrew Community Centre, in Summer Close, on Wednesday.

Around 12 children aged between seven weeks and three years attended the grand opening where they took part in craft activities, sang and played together. The sessions run every Wednesday from 1.30pm and parents are welcome to turn up on the day.

Also being launched is a Mini Movers group on Mondays, to help youngsters develop balance and co-ordination, and a signing group on Thursdays, where babies up to 18 months will learn to sign simple words.

The groups are being run at the community centre by Sam Grange-Hall, an early years development officer employed by West Walton Children's Centre.

The first movement class will be held between 10am and 11.30am on Monday, February 18, and all classes cost 1 per half term.

To find out more or to enrol, call Mrs Grange-Hall on 07788 561487.
