Vinnie is North Lynn carnival king

CREATIVE pupils whose decorated float won second prize at North Lynn's first children's carnival have received commemorative medals from the organisers.

North Lynn Community Association chairman Rab Scott also presented a special trophy to ten-year-old Vinnie Kirk, who was named the carnival king at the event in September.

Mr Scott presented medals to 27 pupils of St Edmund's Community School in recognition of their contribution. The youngsters chose a Chinese theme for their float and rode on it in the carnival parade.

The Cool Crazee Carnival was the first event organised especially for North Lynn youngsters since the Queen's Silver Jubilee 30 years ago.

More than 2,000 people attended and Mr Scott said: "It was an overwhelming success and it's going to get bigger and bigger."

Planning has already begun for next year's carnival and sponsors are being sought. Any business or individual interested in supporting the occasion is asked to contact Mr Scott by telephoning 07784 717747 or writing to 37 St Edmundsbury Road, King's Lynn, PE30 2DU.
