Young musicians' Christmas concert

YOUNG musicians feature in Breckland Society's Christmas entertainment at The Houghton Centre for the Arts and the Environment, near South Pickenham, tomorrow.

The concert, starting at 7.30pm, will have a varied programme, ranging from Beethoven and Faur to Charles Koechlin and Mel Torme.

Performing on a variety of instruments will be the Constance Ensemble, comprising Laura Carter, Rebecca Hetherington, Joanna Bursby and Sarah Jeffery, who are also singers.

They got together at Birmingham Conservatoire, where they all studied for performance degrees on the recorder.

Flute player Rosie Sells lives at Houghton Farm, South Pickenham, and is a pupil at Wycombe Abbey School, in Buckinghamshire, where she won a music scholarship. Saxophonist Jonathan Radford, from Santon Downham, studies classical saxophone at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester. Pianist Chloe Martindale also studies at Chetham's and made her debut at the Royal Festival Hall aged 11.

Tickets cost 13, including wine and canaps, and can be booked with Sue Whittley on 01366 328190.
