Nine teams are to take on a 1,476 mile car rally over four days to raise money for a youth area in Terrington St Clement.
The Terrington Community Fund Hanseatic Car Rally will leave from outside Marriott’s Warehouse, in South Quay, Lynn, and go via 21 towns that also have links to the historic Hanseatic trading league.
Terrington Community Fund has organised the event.
Andrew Hornigold, rally organiser, said: “We have nine teams visiting 21 Hanseatic towns in four days, each in a German manufactured car costing less than £350!”
Previous rallies have raised between £8,000 and £12,000.
Those funds have helped send cerebral palsy sufferer Ellen Beckett to a Canadian summer camp, buy a sensory unit for the Terrington St Clements’ Sure Start Centre and pay for a infant play area for the village.
The fund was formed by a group of villagers who wanted to support schemes local to them.
It is hoped the new youth area, including basketball hoop and kicking goal will be up and running by summer.
The rally kicks off on Thursday, May 1.
