Older people who provide care to relatives and friends are being invited to attend an advice session in Downham next week.
The event, which has been organised by Age UK Norfolk, will take place in the town’s library next Friday, June 12, between 10am and 12.30pm.
The charity estimates that more than 1.2 million people who are aged 65 or over in the UK are providing unpaid care support to family members or friends. At least a third provide more than 50 hours of care per week.
The session will provide advice on issues including benefits and entitlements, carers’ assessments and support groups which operate across the area.
