Members of the Chain Gang have helped to raise £240 for a good cause.
Downham mayor John Fox welcomed around 160 people to the town hall for the annual Mayors at Home event on Friday last week.
Representatives for groups from across the town rubbed shoulders with mayors from as far away as Boston along with tucking into a buffet provide by Bluebells.
During the event, a floral arrangement was raffled off and raised £240 for the newly formed Downham Dementia Community.
Mr Fox said: “It went very well and I would like to thank the people who organised it.
“To raise £240 was really good going.”
n Downham Dementia Community is launching a café on Monday in the town’s Methodist Church Hall, Paradise Road, from 10.30am to 1pm.
The event, which will be held on the third Monday of each month, will include a performance by Fenland Ukulele group.
