Plans to reopen a West Norfolk post office in a social club will not be going ahead.
Wolferton has been without a branch since September following the retirement of the postmaster.
The Post Office was looking to run an outreach service within the Wolferton Social Club.
But the company has announced this week that the move will not be going ahead following a decision by the social club to pull out of the proposal.
Field change adviser Wendy Hamilton says other options are being pursued to return Post Office services to the village.
She said: “We understand the importance of having a Post Office in Wolferton.
“The hosted outreach service presents the best possible solution in this area.”
The social club proposal would have seen the post master from East Rudham visiting the site at arranged times.
The Lynn News approached the social club for a comment but nothing had been received by the time of going to press.
