Adam and Hannah off-air
n Adam: My girlfriend and I recently decided it was about time that we moved in together and we finally got the keys to our lovely new place at the weekend.
Moving house can be such a stress with all the furniture you’ve got to shift and the fact that your life is in boxes for weeks before, but we’re just about settled now.
I have to admit, when it comes to choosing new things to go in the house, I am the typical bloke. I’m not fussed about what plates we have or the colour scheme of the towels in the bathroom.
To be honest, she is better than me at that sort of thing and probably prefers that I’m not bothered because it means she can get the stuff she likes! But after talking about it on the show, Hannah pointed out that the only new purchase I had made an executive decision on was Mario Brothers for the Wii. I felt a bit bad after that.
So, for the record, I’ve done my bit. I’ve sorted the council tax, arranged for the Sky man to come out and told all the utility companies that we’re in. And with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I plan to cook a lovely romantic meal for her in our new house.
After I’ve played Mario.
n Hannah: This time last week I was heading into work oblivious to the dramas that were about to unfold.
It was one of the busiest days I’ve ever had as a journalist.
It began at 10am on Tuesday morning when calls started coming in to say a robbery was taking place in Lynn.
Our reporter rushed to Norfolk Street to find lots of shocked shop staff standing around talking about what had just unfolded.
Two men got out of a car and set off a fire extinguisher, smashed the jewellery shop windows, grabbed what they could and fled.
You don’t really think when you set off for work in the morning that just a few hours later you’ll be a witness to something so dramatic and frightening.
By 2pm reports starting coming that a police officer had been injured in Sutton St James.
Residents started to call in saying armed police were on the streets of the sleepy village with police dogs too.
By 4pm the police were telling residents to stay in their homes. I spoke to many villagers, most were calm but slightly bewildered by the all activity. The night ended in the death of the man involved.
It must have been a tough day for everyone involved both incidents and let’s hope we don’t see anything like this again any time soon.
