Adam and Hannah off-air

n Adam: I recently read that around £57 million is lost down the back of British sofas in small change every year. That’s a lot of money.

Out of curiosity I slipped my hand down the back of one of my old sofas which for the last two years has been sat in the garage collecting dust.

To my astonishment I found more than just a few odd coins.

There, wedged between the cushions, was a perfectly preserved restaurant gift card that someone gave me for Christmas two years ago with £40 still on it!

I knew I’d lost it somewhere but I’d forgotten all about it. I can remember hunting high and low for ages but eventually gave up and it completely slipped my mind.

Then out of nowhere it suddenly cropped up again and saved my otherwise unplanned and pretty dull weekend.

I was at a loose end so called up an old friend who recently moved back to the area and we went out and spent the lot. And the best bit? Not only did we have a completely free starter, main course and dessert, but the waiter forgot to add the rather expensive bottle of wine to the bill, too. Double bonus.

Go on. Stuff your hand down the back of your sofa. You never know what you might find!

n Hannah: I’m off work this week! I’m having a much needed break from early starts on KL.FM.

So I jetted off for some relaxing in the sun on the beach... that’s a lie. I actually went, surprise, surprise, back to Sweden.

Yes my regular haunt at the moment with my boyfriend being out there. This time though we decided to get out of Gothenburg and head for Stockholm.

It’s the other side of the country so it’s about 5 hours from Gothenburg and Mark and I have never been there before so we thought it would be a nice city break. As predicted it was freezing cold. But, we had a lovely hotel overlooking the river and the city is beautiful.

There were a few things I had set my heart on doing.

I wanted to see the changing of the guard at the Palace, and to go on a boat trip on the iced-over river.

I think the changing of the guard was more elaborate at the Royal Palace in Sweden than it is at Buckingham Palace, but their uniforms aren’t as interesting.

The boat through the ice is odd, because you can hear the ice creaking and rolling around the boats hull.

But it was a great way to see the city and I’m glad I had the chance to go and see Stockholm as I’m in Sweden so often at the moment.
