BREACKLAND: Council boss warns of ‘difficult decisions’

Breckland Council leader William Nunn says that 2013 promises to be “a year of challenge and achievement” for the authority, in his new year message to the district’s residents.

In his first new year’s video message, now on You Tube, he looks back over the highlights of 2012, including the Breckland Torch Relay and the Light Dragoons homecoming parade in Dereham.

And in looking forward to this year, he explains the financial pressures the council faces and some of the difficult decisions which must be taken.

Mr Nunn says: “In 2013 we will continue to work hard to serve you, the residents of Breckland.

“We will continue to listen, learn and understand what matters.

“Our district remains a great place to live and work because of the hard work of people in businesses, voluntary and community organisations, public services and the community spirit that exists in many of our neighbourhoods.

“That will serve us well in 2013 as we strive to do the best we can for everyone in Breckland.”

The film is part of the council’s work to boost public involvement and understanding of its work by increasing its use of digital communication channels.

It can be viewed at www.breckland.gov.uk
