A new help and support service for people who need care in the community is being launched in the Lynn area.
Respite Resolutions can offer support services to those who need it and also provide respite to those who care for loved ones unpaid.
The new non-profit organisation has been launched by Darren Gibson following research into the provision for carers in the local community.
It has been launched in Lynn, as well as Wisbech, Spalding, Peterborough, Stamford and Bourne.
Mr Gibson said: “Respite Resolutions will provide affordable respite, telephone, administration and face-to-face services for all the local community to enjoy, and allow people in times of distress, anxiety or loneliness to meet new people and get the help and support they need, when they need it.”
The services include:
1 Wellbeing calls – up to three calls per day to chat, remind about medication or whatever you want a call for.
1 A confidential listening telephone helpline.
1 Benefits guidance and advice, plus form filling and online submission.
1 Day care and social interaction groups, including coach trips and holidays, and advice bureau service.
1 Full range of support services in peoples homes.
1 Friendship, communication and activities.
Anyone wanting to join the Lynn group can call 0845 548 5144 for an information pack and application form. Places will be limited to 40 per day and anyone is eligible to join.
Mr Gibson said: “These groups are good for respite situations so unpaid carers can have a break for a day knowing their loved one is safe, happy, entertained and fed and watered all day long.”
