Multi-award winning wildlife photographer, cameraman, explorer and twice winner of the Polar Medal, Doug Allan, embarks on his greatest adventure yet this October when he visits Lynn.
As one of the world’s leading wildlife cameramen, who has worked alongside Sir David Attenborough, Doug will be hosting an evening of enthralling personal recollections from his travels around the world.
From being dragged under water by a hungry walrus to being poked while he slept by a polar bear, Doug never fails to entertain with his exciting stories, Scottish charm and warm sense of humour.
Last year, Doug published his book, Freeze Frame, about his life as a polar cameraman, and he has recently appeared in the BBC’s Wild Cameramen At Work.
In his narration for the series, Sir David Attenborough said: “For me, wildlife cameramen don’t come much more special than Doug.
“There’s just no one else who knows these frozen worlds as he does.”
Known for his award winning camera work on hugely successful BBC series such as Life, Human Planet, Blue Planet, Planet Earth and the recently acclaimed Frozen Planet and Ocean Giants, he also recently filmed and presented for the BBC’s Operation Iceberg.
With mesmerising footage and incredible photographs, Doug chats about his latest stories and adventures.
He will be visiting Lynn Arts Centre on October 27. Tickets are available from the box office on 01553 764864.
