In 2014 Mike Wallace was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and was treated by Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s cancer care team.

Two years on and Mike, from Tydd St Mary, wants to give back to the team who helped him through the treatment.

With help from the songs Mike wrote whilst having chemotherapy, he is now putting on a second concert, Cutting Loose II, on Saturday, August 13, 7.15pm, following on from the success of his first, last October.

The concert is in aid of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Oesophagastric Cancer Surgery Fund and Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital Macmillan Care and Treatment Centre.

Guitarist Tommy Loose will join Mike on stage at the concert at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre.

An auction will accompany the concert, which will raise funds for the two cancer departments, and will have some star-studded items up for grabs.

Yes keyboardist (and Grumpy Old Man) Rick Wakeman and musician Gordon Giltrap have donated CDs for the charity auction, and there will also be a raffle on the evening.

There will be free parking at the hospital for guests.

Tickets are £5, contact Mike Wallace on 01945420400 or visit www.cuttingloose.org.uk.
