An open event at Lynnsport this Thursday will mark the opening of the consultation on the proposed development of 500 new homes at the Lynnsport and Marsh Lane sites over the next five years.

The consultation event, which takes place between 10am and 8pm in the Wembley Room at Lynnsport, marks the start of a five-year housing delivery programme which will see some 500 new homes being built by September 2020.

Cllr Alistair Beales, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Industrial Assets, said: “This is a major project for the council which will deliver much-needed housing over the next five years. The properties are conveniently located with excellent access to existing pedestrian and cycling links into the town. I would urge people to come along and look at the proposals which incorporate a mix of designs across the two sites.”

Those attending will be able to view the proposals and speak to members of the project team, who will be happy to answer questions or discuss the proposals in more detail. A planning application for the new link road which is vital to this development has already been submitted. Detailed plans for this road will be available for people to view at this consultation event.

Those unable to attend can view the proposals either online at www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/haveyoursay or by visiting the borough council offices. This initial consultation closes on December 30.
