Red tape is holding up the start of building work on an £894,000 commercial and pleasure marina at Sutton Bridge.
But Lincolnshire County Council, which is steering the project, is confident the work will be finished this summer.
Paul Wheatley, the county’s group manager for economic development, said: “We’d hoped to begin construction works before Christmas. Unfortunately it’s taking slightly longer than anticipated to complete the various leases and contract documents.
“Everything else that needs to be sorted out in order to start construction is now in place, and we’re itching to get on site just as soon as the legals are completed.”
When the plan was first unveiled, a community interest company, Nene Marine, was set up to help the project along.
Nene Marine is now taking a back seat but its secretary Jenny Rowe said: “It’s unfortunate to have delays but it will be nice to see the project up and running.”
