Ban for driving over the limit

DRINK-driver Aaron Wick was banned from driving for a year by West Norfolk Magistrates today.

Philip Alcock, prosecuting, told the court that Wick, 37, c/o Lee Warner Avenue, Fakenham, was stopped by police at Walsingham on January 30.

When officers spoke to him they smelt alcohol and a breath test showed he had 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, where the legal limit is 35.

Wick, who represented himself in court, admitted the offence and said: “I don’t deny I was under the influence at the time.”

Magistrates ordered Wick to pay a £65 fine and £15 surcharge but made no order for costs because of his limited means.

Wick was banned from driving for a year.
