Crime is falling
WEST Norfolk’s most senior police officer has insisted people are safe in the area after a vicious assault and armed police swoop in Lynn town centre last Friday.
Supt Dave Marshall, West Norfolk police commander, said figures show the number of crimes in the borough has fallen 10 per cent since last April compared to the same period the previous year.
He said: “Recent Home Office figures highlight Norfolk as the safest county in the country. Specific to West Norfolk crime and anti-social behaviour is showing a significant year-on-year fall.
“As the policing lead for the district, we aim to maintain this position and continue to protect people from becoming victims of crime.”
Friday’s Lynn News, ran a front page picture of armed police swooping in Saturday Market Place to arrest two men in relation to a murder in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Alongside it was the image of a man on his hands and knees having been set upon by another man close to Purfleet Street, on Friday afternoon.
No complaint has been made about the attack.
