KING’S LYNN: Addict plea to quit habit
A heroin addict said he had put his family and his victims through enough of his offending when he asked magistrates for help to kick his drug habit.
James Kelly, 31, of Dobby Drive, Lynn, appeared before magistrates on Friday and admitted breaching a community order by not attending for unpaid work in December.
He told the court he could not complete unpaid work because of his addiction, and needed supervision.
He said: “I have put my family and victims through enough, and I’ve just found out my dad has got cancer. It’s time to stop, but it’s not an easy road.”
Magistrates revoked the existing community order and imposed a new order with 12-months supervision.
