KING’S LYNN: Bike thefts across the area
A string of bike thefts across Lynn prompted police to issue warnings to secure your bike while left around the town.
Supt Dave Marshall said: “During the brief spell of better weather we noticed a rise in the number of bikers being stolen. Please ensure that you secure your bike with a good quality lock to an object that cannot be moved.
“Also if you see someone acting suspiciously or loitering around cycle racks, even in the town centre, please let us know. Suspects will often be brazen to fool passers-by into thinking they are not committing a crime by being so obvious.
“Finally, if you are offered a bike for sale in the street at a knock-down price, it’s almost certainly too good a deal to be true and my advice would be to walk away.”
A bike was stolen from a property in Wootton Road, Gaywood, between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on March 13.
An insecure cycle was stolen from the back garden of a property in Keswick, Fairstead, between 5.30pm on March 15 and 8.30am the next morning.
Another bike was stolen from a back garden in Bagge Road, Gaywood, between 11pm on March 17 and 6am the next morning.
