KING’S LYNN: New year row led to a ban

A drink-driver was three times the legal alcohol limit when she took her boyfriend’s car following an argument in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Jekaterina Jevtichova drove her boyfriend’s car to “pay him back” after he smashed their television during the row, Lynn magistrates heard on Friday.

The 23-year-old also drove just two weeks after a driving ban for a previous drink-driving offence had expired.

Jevtichova, of Cresswell Street, Lynn, admitted drink-driving on January 1, and also driving with no insurance.

A breath test revealed 107 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

The court heard Jevtichova had been celebrating the New Year with friends, and had been drinking wine and champagne.

She was sentenced to a community order, with 12-months supervision requirement and 60-hours unpaid work.

She was also banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay £145 costs.
