KING’S LYNN: Police probe cloned card fraud

A cloned credit card was used to fraudlently obtain hundreds of pounds at a Lynn shop this week.

Police have appealed for information about the incident at the Costcutter store in Loke Road, which happened at around 6.45pm on Monday.

A man entered the store and asked for a £350 credit on a pre-paid American Express card before leaving without paying.

Around an hour earlier, between 5.50pm and 6pm, a similar card was used by to obtain a £350 credit from the Londis store in York Way, Thetford.

A man, described as white, with fair hair, of medium and aged around 25, also left those premises without paying.

Examinations subsequently revealed that the card used at the Costcutter had been cloned, which meant that the account could still be accessed.

Anyone with information about the incidents should contact PC Andy Wise of Lynn police via the non-emergency 101 number (calls cost 15p).
