MURDER INVESTIGATION - Police appeal for public’s help

Waiting for Video...

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of teenager Alisa Dmitrijeva are appealing for the public’s help to get justice for the student.

The body of a 17-year-old Alisa lay hidden for months in an isolated woodland, owned by Sandringham Estate, off King’s Avenue, Anmer, until she was discovered by a dog walker on New Year’s Day.

Days of speculation ended on Sunday when police announced that they had identified the body as Alisa, who was last seen in Friars Street, Lynn, on August 31.

The man leading the hunt, Det Chief Insp Jes Fry would like to hear of sightings of Alisa between August 31 and September 6.

He is also asking for people who worked or attended events in Anmer during the same time frame to come forward.

Police will also be approaching the Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian community to help with the investigation.

Det Chief Insp Fry said: “We are keen for anyone with knowledge of her movements to contact us as soon as possible.”

Alisa was last seen getting into a green Lexus with two male acquaintances just after midnight on August 31 in Friars Street, Lynn.

They say they dropped her off near to Asda, in Leverington Road, Wisbech, but police cannot find CCTV evidence of her arriving there.

She was reported missing by her grandmother Lidija Nesterova on September 6.

Det Chief Insp Fry said that Cambridgeshire police has shared information from the missing person inquiry and that officers are keen to find Alisa’s mobile phone.

Det Chief Insp Fry said: “We will be looking at contacting and re-establishing contact with close associates of hers to focus down on her movements.”

Police were able to identify the teenager after building up a DNA profile and using a palm print scan held by Cambridgeshire police from a previous occasion. Det Chief Insp Fry was not sure if she had been arrested but stressed that no further action had been taken.
