SHOULDHAM: Drink-driver ‘feared losing his job’

A man denied drink-driving after a crash because he feared for his employment.

Ross Kirk, 29, of Westgate Street, Shouldham, had 59 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, Lynn magistrates heard on Wednesday. The legal limit is 35.

Kirk admitted drink-driving on the A47 at Swaffham on October 13. He was banned from driving for a year, fined £315 and told to pay £85 costs plus a £32 victim surcharge.

Roger Glazebrook, mitigating, said Kirk had not wanted to admit he was driving as he was concerned he might lose his job.
