Sort your life out, say magistrates
MAGISTRATES told a 26-year-old he was being given the chance to sort his life out through a community sentence.
James Pinner, of Dunns Lane, North Creake, was intercepted by police stealing £432 of alcohol and electrical goods from Tesco, in Lynn, last month while on bail for theft from a car and attempted theft of the vehicle in Downham in April last year.
Pinner, who is in the midst of completing an unpaid work order for criminal damage, admitted the charges at West Norfolk Magistrates’ Court, in Lynn, on Wednesday.
He was given a total of 140 additional hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £235 compensation.
Michael Gamble, chairman of the magistrates’ bench, said: “You have got your life into a bit of a muddle. We have heard from your solicitor you are trying to do something about it.
“We trust you will take the opportunities the probation service is going to give you and you will stop your drinking and your offending.”
