Speeding fine for driver, 85

AN 85-year-old driver who broke the 30mph speed limit in Gayton Road, Gaywood, was fined £60 at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Lemuel Burt, of Mount Park Close, Middleton, was caught by a speed camera driving his Vauxhall at 40mph on June 10 last year.

In a letter, he admitted the offence and said: “I will drive more carefully in future. I hope you will take this into account.”

As well as the fine, the magistrates gave him three penalty points and ordered him to pay £100 costs.
