KING’S LYNN: Man dumped car after crash

A motorist who abandoned his car after a collision in Lynn did not hold a driving licence.

Edgaras Stankevicius, 21, crashed his Mazda into the barrier at the Extons Road junction with Hospital Walk, Lynn magistrates heard on Wednesday.

Stankevicius, of Portland Street, Lynn, admitted failing to stop after an accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance on December 10.

Roger Glazebrook, mitigating, said Stankevicius had paid for insurance, which was invalid because he had never held a licence in the UK or his native Lithuania.

Stankevicius also admitted stealing a bottle of Martini from Tesco, in Lynn, in the early hours of the day after the crash.

He was fined a total of £695 and ordered to pay £85 costs plust £26 to a victims fund.
