KING’S LYNN: Men in court over drunken actions

Four men who made too merry before Christmas were fined £40 by magistrates on Monday.

Kieran Doherty, of Cresswell Street, Lynn, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Norfolk Street on Christmas Eve.

During a disturbance Doherty, 30, swore at a police officer and claimed his name was “Mickey Mouse.” Doherty said he regretted the incident.

Ernest Naughton, 59, care of Wootton Road, Gaywood, admitted using threatening words or behaviour by kicking the front door of a Wootton Road address and abusing a woman living there on December 23.

Naughton said the circumstances were domestic, adding: “I was drunk. I’m sorry.”

Passers-by detained Jake Graham, 23, formerly of Gayton Road, Ashwicken, after he ran into Gayton Road, Gaywood on December 22 and caused drivers to swerve. He admitted being drunk and disorderly, but made no further comment.

Paul Totten, 41, of Downs Close, Hunstanton, admitted being drunk in St James Street, Lynn on December 14 after police found him barely able to see, stand or speak. He accepted he had drunk too much.

Doherty, Naughton and Graham have to pay £105 costs, while Totten has to pay £60.
