Daniel Wilson said he was “trying his luck” when he walked out of Morrisons in Lynn with a trolley-load of unpaid shopping.
The 21-year-old, of North Everard Street, Lynn, appeared at West Norfolk Magistrates’ Court on Friday and admitted stealing £250.24 worth of meat and food from the supermarket on January 9.
He was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge, and ordered to pay £65 costs.
