Parents in West Norfolk have been given an extra week to submit their applications for secondary school places for their children next year because of technical problems, county council chiefs have confirmed.

The deadline for applications had been due to pass today, but has now been extended until next Friday, November 7, after a fault with the online admissions process was discovered last week.

A Norfolk County Council spokesman said: “As this problem came so close to the planned deadline we will allow parents to submit their applications for a further week and consider these as on-time applications.”

The application deadline for primary school places in the 2015-16 academic year remains unchanged on Thursday, January 15, 2015.
