Defender Jordan Yong has committed himself to King’s Lynn Town Football Club for another season.

The popular left-back, who has made 194 appearances and scored five goals in a Linnets shirt, confirmed he was staying over the weekend.

Linnets boss Gary Setchell said: “I’m very pleased that Jordy is remaining with us. He has the potential to be one of the best full-backs in the league.”

Setchell has given both Jackson Ramm and Stephen Spriggs until early next week to decide on deals offered to them, but one player who has departed is Michael Frew.

Frew failed to find the form of his previous spell at the club last season, scoring seven goals in 40 starts.

On Frew’s exit, Setchell said: “I would personally like to thank Michael on his efforts for the club and I wish him well in the future.”

The confirmed players list for next season now reads: Alex Street, Ross Watson, David Bridges, Sam Mulready, Ryan Fryatt, Conor Marshall, Jacek Zielonka, Lee Stevenson, Liam Hurst and Jordan Yong.

Setchell is still hoping to bring in three new faces before the start of pre-season with two centre-halves and a striker at the top of his wanted list.
