A rare middle Bronze Age weapon – one of just six known in Europe – is coming to Lynn Museum.
The dirk was discovered 13 years ago, when it was ploughed up in a field in East Rudham.
Its significance was unknown at that time, and was taken home as a curio and used as a doorstop until it was identified in 2013.
It was saved for the nation with grants totalling £41,000.
Coinciding with the display of the Rudham Dirk is the Lynn Museum family learning event ‘Treasure!’ on Tuesday, August 11, 10.30am to 1pm. Find out what treasures are hidden and make your own mini museum and fill it with exciting exhibits, including a semi-precious stone and a real fossil. Free with museum admission.
The Rudham Dirk will be on display in the foyer of Lynn Museum from July 30 to August 22.
