Families discovered jewels of a West Norfolk wood during a fundraising dog treasure hunt.
The House on the Green, in North Wootton, organised Saturday’s event to introduce families to new dog walks along with supporting the Ziggy appeal.
Beth Southwell, who works two jobs, needs to raise £5,000 to pay for her four-year-old Jack Russell Ziggy to have surgery.
His front legs are severely deformed and the operation would see metal plates inserted. If the operation is not completed by October, Ziggy may have to be put down.
Staff at the pub devised two routes, which take in a number of interesting beauty spots, around the surrounding woodland.
Families were set the challenge of getting a picture of their dog at the various spots, which included a sand pit, along with finding various things to bring back.
Proprietor Irene Armstrong said: “We would like to do this again as there are lots of different walks.”
Among the walkers were Miss Southwell and Ziggy who enjoyed the sand pit. She said: “It was brilliant.A beach without water is a dream come true for Ziggy.”
