More than £2,000 was raised during a giant coffee morning last week.

Downham Rotary Club once again staged the popular event in the town hall on Friday last week.

Scores of shoppers dropped into the hall to enjoy a cuppa and a cake along with buying a ticket for the giant raffle.

The event was held to raise money for the Norfolk Hospice, the NSPCC, West Norfolk Riding for the Disabled and Rotary club.

A club spokesman said: “The initial count shows a total of about £2,000 was raised which will be divided equally between the five charities. We would like to thank all those business and individuals who sponsored the raffle and local people for their generosity.” PICTURE: mlnf16pm04133
