Staff at the two Downham firms put on their running shoes to raise £3,000 for two good causes.

Six people from Downham Tandoori and four from the Castle Hotel were joined by five friends and customers in completing the 10km Bespak Grand East Anglian Run in May.

The runners raised £2,500, topped up to £3,000 by the restaurant, which has been divided between Cancer Research and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Runners are pictured presenting the cheques with MP Elizabeth Truss.

Among the runners were Stuart Singleterry, Chris Clark, Daniel Clifton, Rachael Hilton and Alex Booth. PICTURE: mlnf15pm09127
