The last two meetings of the year for Downham Friendship Group will take place over the next fortnight.
This group is aimed at people of all ages who would like to meet others and adult care development worker Gemma Liczbinski said: “This year has been very successful with many local organisations, groups and businesses giving their time and getting involved to provide talks and activities.
“We have had dementia friends sessions, health trainers, talks on family and local history, craft sessions, quizzes and much more. We are now getting ready for the new year and have road safety, card making, holistic therapies and flower demonstrations on the menu so far.”
The group meets on Tuesdays from 1pm to 3pm at Downham Library. It costs £1 to attend which includes refreshments.
Their last meeting of the year is on December 9, when they will be adding mince pies and alcohol free mulled wine to the refreshments, added to a performance of Christmas carols by Hillcrest Primary School choir from 1.30-2pm.
The group re-starts on January 13 and for more information contact the library on 01366 383073.
The group is looking for a volunteer to help at sessions.
