Plans for a housing development in Downham have been rejected by councillors.
John Murphy had been seeking permission to build three new homes on the Stables site in Bexwell Road.
He also wanted to convert former offices and an old coach house to form four more homes.
But members of the West Norfolk Council planning committee refused permission for the scheme when they met in Lynn on Monday.
Officers had previously recommended approval, reporting that the proposals were appropriate for the site and would not harm the surrounding area.
But the town council had objected, arguing the plan was an “overdevelopment” of the site.
