Generous Downham Lions have raised almost £500 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal.
Members have been volunteering to run collections outside the town’s Tesco store to help terminally ill patients receive free nursing care in their own homes.
President John Fox was delighted with the collection. He said: “On behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Care we would like to thank the general public in Downham Market for their generosity in supporting this very worthy charity.
“We would also like to thank Tesco once again for their support and hospitality.”
The club will also be raffling giant Easter eggs around Downham and the surrounding area for good causes including the East Anglian Hospice, Cancer Research and Papworth Hospital.
Raffles will be held in the Conservative Club, Bees Motors, Palmers Restaurant, Goddards Butchers, The Heron in Stow Bridge, The Hare Arms at Stow Bardolph, Downham Garden Centre and the social club.
The Lions will also be raffling a giant Easter egg in the town centre on Saturday, April 19.
