Downham Market modellers show charity boost

West Norfolk Modellers Club have raised £500 for a children’s charity following their annual Model Show at Downham Town Hall in June. Make Them Smile, which helps children under the age of 18 with a wide range of medical conditions such as leukaemia, cerebral palsy and terminal illnesses, were presented with the cheque on Wednesday, July 27.

Modellers Club member Derrick Burton said: “The charity provides for therapy and holidays for children in Norfolk. They are not a big charity and the £500 came as a bit of a pleasant shock and will be used for hydrotherapy sessions.” Pictured are, from left, West Norfolk Modellers treasurer Alan Morris, Make Them Smile trustee Martin Stirk, and chairman Colin Sanders.
