A business in Downham is to donate a large number of toys to charity next week.

A.T. Johnson on Bridge Street are donating the toys to East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH)’s charity shop in the town on Friday, July 29.

Jane Shore, who works at the hardware store, said: “We started selling toys at the shop over a year ago and we’ve now got some surplus toys so we thought rather than trying to sell them, we’d give them to a charity that’s particularly close to one member of staff’s heart.”

She added that the store have two or three boxes full of toys to give to the charity to sell on, to use in a raffle, or to use in the charity’s hospice waiting rooms for children who are patients there.

“EACH is a local charity and is a cause close to our hearts”, Jane said.
