DOWNHAM sixth form’s travel and tourism students hosted an Abroad Experience day for pupils at Howard Junior School.
Year 13, with help from Year 12, put on a fantastic world travel day – when the children got to cover five different continents across the globe and participate in fun activities along the way.
From leaving Howard and travelling on the A10 Airbus, the children were presented with passport control and customs.
Once they had successfully passed security they travelled to South America, Africa, Asia, Australasia and the Caribbean.
They stopped off for lunch in Italy, where pizzas were the speciality dish, followed by an Italy-shaped cake.
Each pupil was given a travel bag to accompany them through their journey, where they could pick up lots of souvenirs from the day.
The worldwide journey was finished in New Zealand, where both Downham and Howard staff and pupils performed the haka.
Downham sixth form’s Trudy Jones said: “I am so proud of everybody involved for all the work they have put in. Tom Abbs (from Howard school) is an ex-pupil of ours and he has done some guest speaking for us in the past, so it was nice to do something for the children of his school.”
