Burnham Market Primary School and Hunstanton’s Glebe House School are among those receiving specialist cycling coaching ahead of the Pedal Norfolk festival at Holkham Hall this May.
After Easter, ten schools will be given training from qualified coaches, with bicycles and helmets provided for children without their own.
After the sessions, races will help schools select teams to represent them at Pedal Norfolk in a competition to find the county’s fastest champion.
Organiser Peter Flett said: “Last year we saw many families enjoy the event, but the new junior championship will add an extra challenge for our young riders.
“We look forward to celebrating their successes and hope their families will join us in cheering them on.”
On May 4, schools will compete for the Norfolk Norfolk Junior Sprint Team Championship, with prizes awarded by Olympic silver medallist and World Time Trial Champion Emma Pooley.
