A grant of £3,000 has been agreed by Fakenham town councillors for the Friends of Fakenham Junior school.

The money will go towards the cost of supplying new railings which have been designed by an artist in association with a school-based project. A further grant of £2,000 was agreed for community group Kick Start Fakenham to help towards staging a charity music festival in the town on August 3. The Rock 4 Jasmine event will raise cash for the paediatric rheumatology department of the Norfolk and Norwich hospital where Jasmine Lewis,8, is receiving regular treatment for a rare and life-threatening disease. The festival is being organised by her father, Craig Lewis, who runs Cromwell Barn Health and Fitness Centre in the town.
