Lynn’s Springwood High School has been given its third successive ‘good’ rating by Ofsted inspectors.

The verdict, which was released by the school yesterday, follows an assessment visit last month.

Executive headteacher Andy Johnson said: “I am immensely proud of all the staff and students.

“It is great to see the creativity, innovation and the sheer hard work of the staff being acknowledged.

“Our values of constantly challenging what we do ensure the best outcomes for all our students and will help contribute to outstanding in three years time.”

In a letter to Mr Johnson, inspector Jason Howard said: “Pupils learn in a calm, orderly environment and enjoy positive relationships with their teachers and with each other.

“They speak articulately and with confidence, wear their uniform with pride, and treat the site with respect.”

He said the school also had a clear picture of its strengths and weaknesses.

But, to improve further, inspector he called for teachers to give precise, subject-based feedback to younger students.

He also urged measures to address high absence and lower progress among pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, following work already undertaken in that area.
