Seventy-nine per cent of students gaining an A* to C in both English and Maths.

Pupils fared particularly well in core subjects, with 85 per cent achieving A*to C grades in English and 82 per cent in Maths, which is particularly impressive given the national picture.

Seventy-eight per cent of students achieved at least 5 A* to C grades including English and Maths, while 80 per cent achieved 5 or more A* to C grades in all subjects.

Headteacher Rob Martlew said: “We are delighted with our GCSE results and are incredibly proud of our students.

“Everyone has worked so hard and they have been rewarded with outstanding results.

“I would like to pass on my personal congratulations and best wishes for the future to everyone.”

Mr Martlew added: “The school has achieved record results this year. This has not happened by accident and I would like to thank students, parents and staff for everything that they have done.

“They have been relentless in their pursuit of success and are justifiably proud of what has been accomplished.”
