NORTHWOLD: School ordered to improve
A village primary school has been ordered to improve by education inspectors.
The Norman Church of England Primary School in Northwold has been told it requires improvement following an Ofsted inspection last month.
It was graded at level 3, the same as its last inspection in 2010. The grade used to be ‘satisfactory’ but was changed to ‘requires improvement’ in an Ofsted crackdown to get more schools to push for ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ ratings.
The report said achievement of pupils and quality of teaching at the school needed improvement, but stressed that behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management were good.
By July this year, the school needs to improve the quality and consistency of teaching, and leadership and management of teaching in order to accelerate pupil progress.
