SWAFFHAM: Inspiring future leaders

Swaffham’s Nicholas Hamond Academy has played host to pupils from primary schools in its catchment area for two recent events.

Children from Narborough, Necton and Sporle primary schools took part in a sports leadership day at the academy in Brandon Road, where they spent the day working on skills such as communication and coaching.

The skills learnt on the day were intended to enable them to deliver an agility programme back in their own schools to the younger pupils.

The second event was an indoor athletics competition in which all the academy’s feeder schools took part.

More than 140 pupils competed in a range of track and field events, such as javelin, long jump and hurdles. Neighbouring Swaffham Junior School emerged the winner.
