TERRINGTON ST CLEMENT: Head set to stand down this month

St Clement’s High School headteacher Victoria Worsnop has announced she is leaving her post at the end of the month.

Dr Worsnop, 55, said she had decided to move home to Cambridge after two years at the school.

She had spent around 13 years before that at a boarding school in Hertfordshire and said: “I have been a bit of a weekend wife.”

She said she had enjoyed working with youngsters to raise their attainment and aspirations, and with the staff and governors.

She added: “It’s been a difficult decision to leave. It’s a lovely village and the people are lovely too.

“I have also had the opportunity to appoint some fantastic new staff, especially in music, science and maths.

“I think there is a firmer foundation for the next headteacher to build on,” said Dr Worsnop.

Her future plans could include looking at international headships or starting an educational consultancy.
